Wilderness, Ocean and Wild imagery through the lens of Cape Town based ocean biologist and photographer Ken Findlay.

The Earth's Wilderness, Ocean and Wild spaces are changing rapidly.  So too is their portrayal in today's world of fake and artificial digital imagery that sets unachievable expectations in people's perceptions and interactions with the wild. KenFinPhoto aims to show WOW  photography of the "real" out there and our images are showcased with the aim of advancing the mindfulness, appreciation and protection of "things wild". Many of these images were taken in areas that are no longer true wilderness or in areas that are now only "wild" through their protected area status. KenFinPhoto therefore strongly supports the global goal of  "30x30" - thirty percent of global areas protected by 2030.

Feel free to have a look through the page links above which showcase our Wilderness, Ocean and Wild imagery, from the Southern Ocean and the Antarctic, to the coral coasts of the Indian Ocean, Bali, the Similans and Surins of Thailand and the Red Sea, and from the deserts of the Kgalagadi, Namib Oman, and Atacama to the mountains of the Himalaya and Andes. Many of the underwater images come from freediving my back-garden brightly-coloured cold temperate reefs and extensive kelp forests in the southern Benguela System off Cape Town. Wildlife and wilderness images are from the Kgalagadi, Okavango Delta, Kruger, Mana and other African wild spaces. Surf and wave images are largely from the Dungeons, and Sunset reefs off the western Cape Peninsula.

Please contact us via the About Page or the Studio Page if you wish to utilise any of our imagery. Imagery is provided free to conservation and education organisations.

While the pages have been developed for mobile, tablet and  pc formats, images are best viewed on larger screens. Enjoy...
